  1. Oh god, there's a whole story there. The overarching tale this one belongs to -- the Arc of the Wolf -- was plotted a couple decades ago when I started it, but then Disco went and wrote some fascinating stuff that I may or may not have stolen some inspiration from to add some stories in. >.> So, there is a story about how one engineering ensign managed to accidentally stumble across the mycelial network, but I have to write most of it yet.

BUT YOU'RE NOT KIDDING. Searching Scotty's tag on AO3 is a special frustration for daraoakwise and I, because we might be the only two people in the whole world of several billion who love that man TOS-style and have since toddlerhood as our absolutely number 1 favorite character of all time, and only in maybe .002% of stories he's tagged in over there does he even get a significant role. (Luckily, we then stumbled across each other and have been enabling one another since restumbling across each other recently.)

I could probably go bonkers for another, idk, twenty paragraphs about him, but I'll spare you. <3 But yeah, pretty much the whole of AotW is a very long love-letter I've been writing to him for over twenty years. In both the joy and the pain.

    Thank you so much. <3

    1. Oh my god, I hear you about Scotty's tag. Every time I try to use AO3, especially for Star Trek fic, it drives me nuts. One of the worst offenders I've seen lately was tagged with two canon pairings, and included every ensemble character in the tags as well -- but the actual story was OFC/OMC, with the Trek cast as window dressing. The tags didn't reflect that at all...

      1. Yeah, it's one of the reasons I'm so strict over here. LOL! I know it takes some people aback, but dammit, tags will be useful for searching, they are not an advertisement. XD
