Whew, Trujillo's plan. O.O I am excited to see how this plays out. I know the ship no doubt survives, given the nature of the series, but I like that I'm not sure everyone will necessarily make it out in one piece. (Not that I want them not to, just that I like not knowing for sure as a reader.)
Ah, excellent movement on the plot, too. The apparently automated defenses that have little to nothing to do with the populace. Also that scene with Garrett, then with Gael and Trujillo. <3 That definitely can't be an easy situation.
It's a dicey proposition, for captain and crew to play against type (and their nature), but Starfleet has a mandate to explore, even when it's reluctant soldiers doing it!
