Comment on Where Angels Fear To Tread

  1. The County of McCovey Cove

Reading this chapter was like being enveloped in a warm hug of nostalgia, all while exploring entirely new territory. This is a great start that plays in the post-Dominion War politics of Star Trek along with the iconic allure of Star Wars. I was absolutely thrilled when Plo Koon made his unexpected entrance, hinting at past adventures and forging a bridge between two beloved universes. Your talent for blending these narratives not only pays homage to both worlds but breathes fresh life into them. I was already intrigued from reading the premise in the summary, but wandering through your execution will definitely have me reading more. Great job!

    1. Thank you for this absolutely wonderful comment! Blending the narratives often felt like tap dancing on ice (they are SO different once you get past the whole "they happen in space" thing) and figuring out what themes to pull out and highlight, without disparaging one or the other was a lot of long conversations. I think part of what really helped is that, of our three collaborators, one was deeply familiar with Star Wars and not Star Trek, and one was deeply familiar with Star Trek and not Star Wars, and one was familiar with both--the lack of familiarity provided a really good check on how much information we needed to give for a similarly unfamiliar audience!
