Comment on Where Angels Fear To Tread

  1. An image of a hot cup of tea sitting next to an open book and in front of a shelf of additional books.

    Yay new chapter!

    I like the opening scene, the way you establish the wartime setting.

    Chester remembered that moment very clearly, because it was the last memory she had, for a long time, of what home meant;

    Oh. That's both lovely and ominous.

    Hmm. I looked up Song Tulin and got no hits, so I'm assuming that's not a canon character. In any case, we have a mistaken identity. Interesting. I'm curious to see how a Starfleet officer gets confused for someone in the SW universe.

    Well, I dislike Master Krell already.

    This was a really good chapter! Since I'm not very familiar with Star Wars, dropping Diane into the SW universe/galaxy works well for me as a reader. i like Diane a lot. I like her determination, and her worry for the clone soldier. The action here is well written, tight and tense and gripping. I'm hoping Diane gets a break soon, but I have a feeling it's going to be a while until that happens.

    I'm excited for more!

    1. Yep! Song Tulin is an original character for this fic. One day, we might write something from her perspective of events here (Jedi dropped into the Dominion War) but this fic is already absurdly long, so it won't be here.

      Krell IS canon, and the result of all of us sitting there looking at each other and going "Okay, what's the absolute singular worst Jedi we can have her run into as a first impression?" Krell shows up in like three episodes of Clone Wars and you spend all three of them howling for his death. He is the Worst (tm). We only mildly altered his character arc here by having him run into the buzzsaw that's a Starfleet officer with a grudge a bit before the events of that arc.

      I'm so glad you like Diane! Her laser focus is so much fun to write, as is her questionable grasp of the concept of self-preservation. Thank you as always for the wonderful comments!
