Thank you for this absolutely wonderful comment! Blending the narratives often felt like tap dancing on ice (they are SO different once you get past the whole "they happen in space" thing) and figuring out what themes to pull out and highlight, without disparaging one or the other was a lot of long conversations. I think part of what really helped is that, of our three collaborators, one was deeply familiar with Star Wars and not Star Trek, and one was deeply familiar with Star Trek and not Star Wars, and one was familiar with both--the lack of familiarity provided a really good check on how much information we needed to give for a similarly unfamiliar audience!
