   The battle has begun, with prefix code hijinks all around. A nice talk between Maya and Dr. McCoy, who has apparently glimpsed some humanity in the troubled young woman. Meanwhile, Albrecht's come to blows with the Ceti eel in her head, causing her to be taken to sickbay rather than fiddle with Enterprise's prefix codes. There she might have some hope of salvation, if T’Ralia's serum works as hoped, though the captain may suffer additional brain damage to whatever the eel has already caused. I'll be interested to see how much influence Kirk has with Captain LeFevre as the battle continues, and whether the admiral will let the captain fight his ship, or pushes him out of the center seat and takes command himself.

   A grim situation here, growing only grimmer by the minute!
