    I really like the sparring scenes, especially the way Plo is able to gain insights into Chester through how she fights.

    This was strange; she was big for a human and strongly muscled━most humans her size did call on their strength in duels. Which made him wonder who, exactly, she was used to fighting.

    Ooh, I like this a lot. I wonder how Plo would react to a Jem Hadar or a Klingon or a Romulan.

    Also, the fight scene is really well written. I don't think I've come across a sparring match with quite so much psychological insight before, and I really like it.

    Smart plan on Plo's part. I was hoping he'd get her out of there. I can just feel Tarkin lurking. I suspect that Chester, sadly, will feel at home in a war zone. :-/

    I am curious, do you plan to explain why/how there are humans in the SW galaxy? I totally get it if you decide to gloss over it (canon is so fuzzy about that sort of thing, on both sides) but if you do have an explanation I'd be fascinated to hear it.

      Thank you! Yeah I feel like a lot of fight scenes are heavily psychological--in this case, we had the advantage of an empathic/telepathic POV character to incorporate both characters' psychologies. So this was super super fun to write!

      I also love the idea that in Star Trek humans are kind of delicate and how that translates over to Star Wars. And yes, very sadly, Chester will probably feel right at home where they're going.

      Yeah we're mystified about humans in the SW galaxy, and the SW galaxy seems to be mystified about why *it* has humans in it. If pressed, we might do a handwave about "yeah they're a near-human species because convergent evolution hahahaah" but maybe we'll come up with something better. :D
