Comment on Ezri Dax and the Big Bad Worf

  1. Picture of a white woman with brown curly hair, face turned away.

I like how Benjamin can see the parts of her that are Ezri and the parts of her that are Dax and cares for all the parts of her.

The way you have the different previous hosts as literally being different voices in her head isn't the way I typically think of it, but works in this story; and it makes sense that Ezri would be a little less ... integrated, shall we say, than most hosts are, given everything.

I'm glad that Deanna was there to support Ezri and help her work through things a little bit, but given how ambivalent Ezri seems about her relationships with Jadzia's friends and Jadzia's life, I'm surprised Deanna didn't ask her if she was sure she wanted to stay on the station; it would probably be easier for Ezri to figure out who she is now when she didn't literally have Jadzia's entire life surrounding her. Not that I think Ezri would take her up on it. But even just working through "do I actually want to stay, or am I just here because Ben wants me here and it feels familiar?" would help Ezri, I think.

"Worf chose not to see the difference" is a great line, and I think it's telling about Worf. And he's got stuff to work through, I like that he knows that and is (grudgingly) willing to do at least a small step toward figuring out how to deal with Ezri who knows him as well as Jadzia did but who isn't Jadzia, and is very different from her.
