You did a good job of explaining the battle, not just what was happening but why, in a way that didn't detract from the excitement of it.
Gilva may be ruthless, but he isn't very smart, is he? A ship that runs away can fight again; a ship that gets captured CAN'T, and a ship that takes preventable damage means that a ship that costs money to repair. And they still didn't catch the ship! If you only care about people thinking you're tough, "if you don't come back with what I tell you to, I'll kill you" is great. If you actually care about "making money at this crime thing," it's stupid.
Turning the Nausicaans over to the Klingons may feel good now, but I would think it would backfire on them in the long run. If word gets out that you'll give people to the Klingons even after they cooperate, they have no leverage to cooperate.
Nobody ever accused Giilva of being a genius, just ruthless. His ham-fisted tactics are usually the ones resulting in a leader being usurped sooner than later.
As for Trujillo handing the Nausicaans over to the Klingons, word getting out is a possibility, but a very remote one. Nobody on Reykjavik will be telling the tale, and the Klingons certainly wont. Anyone the Nausicaans tell on Rura Penthe wouldn't live to tell the tale, either.
