Shades of the STNG progenitors episode... klingons and romulans interested in ancient archeology and destroying sites so that no one else gets the information. Spoon is a fun character and nice squeeze on him.
Really enjoying the vibrant word-painting, making these scenes, particularly the planet and its friendly denizens, very easy to picture.
And a cool twist with the natives having met celestial travelers before.
Thanks for the review. And yes, the progenitors episode (The Chase) definitely served as an inspiration for this story, which really is a treasure hunt in space. Glad you liked the world-building in this story as well.
