Comment on Early Warning

  1. Chester, (in this incarnation) started from me wondering about what happened to the 'ideal' young officers--the ones who were as much scientists and diplomats as anything else--who came up through the ranks during the Dominion War, and what happened to them when they became execs and captains (and could any of them return to those prewar ideals, after the brutal training of the war itself.) Would there be officers who'd find themselves becoming all claws and fangs during the war who'd then turn back and start determinedly walking toward their ideals again?

Here Trujillo catches Chester at the worst point of her career, as she realizes she's a warrior and good at it, and long before she has the option to turn around and again try to be the kind of officer she joined up to be. In some ways, they're a very interesting mirror of one another, a warrior in a time of peace and a diplomat in a time of war...

As for J'etris... her historical knowledge about Garrett is excellent. Her poker face around Garrett... probably not so much. :D Thank you for the fabulous comments!
