Comment on Where Angels Fear To Tread

  1. An image of a hot cup of tea sitting next to an open book and in front of a shelf of additional books.

Plo of course waded right in, because Jedi, when you got right down to it, was a slightly nicer way of saying idiot.

    LOL

Great chapter! I feel bad for Wolfe, trying to make sense of Chester, who doesn't fit neatly into any of the categories he's familiar with. And my guess is that figuring out where people fit has kept him alive, so of course she puts him on edge.

I assume Chester can figure out the droids language because of her universal translator?

And, oof, Wolfe thinking through the implications of the torpedoes. He's starting to piece some things together, and realizing how dangerous Chester really is.

    1. Yep, it's the translator plus being a comms and linguistics nerd and knowing her way around a comms panel! The underlying assumption is that since droid languages are so different from each other in Star Wars, a lot of Separatist encryption probably leans heavy on the language itself, and is using some fairly simple encryptions that a properly persuaded computer can crack fairly quickly.

And you are absolutely right about Wolffe! Chester is just too weird and too different for him to be comfortable around, and then you add the droid shenanigans and the torpedoes and oh, is he uncomfortable and worried...
