    We finally get some idea of what's up with Starfleet Intel's plans for the Romulan Star Empire. Lots of moving parts here, and Saavik's stuck aboard a vessel full of Vulcans, some of whom accept her as one of their own, and others who only give lip service to IDIC. Luckily for her, the admiral is aware of her skills and potential.

    If things go wrong with this operation, Saavik and Chandra both stand to lose a lot of close friends.

      Yes, they do, on a couple of fronts.

      Saavik’s journey is one in which she’s experienced this before, but probably on a much smaller scale in a less concentrated area. Add to it, she’s the second-in-command with a captain that she has to deal with that never wanted her, who seems to be leading that charge of those lacking a true appreciation for IDIC.
