Comment on The Dearest and the Best

  1. Targsbane is yet another cog in these two little operations going on. One that may take some time to play out, but will be important for our Banshees.

Decker is doing everything she can to prove herself. She is probably going through a great deal of imposter syndrome, but she is working hard to be up on everything. She doesn’t want to let anyone down, whether its her crew (including comm techs that seem to have forgotten a few things—we’ll learn more about him later.

Lots of issues among the Deckers and the Sinclairs. We’ll have to see how Mary reacts, but I’m sure that Decker would be glad to have Kim, as she is the one she is closest to. I think Mary is still smarting from Decker abandoning engineering for command.

This was the best way to show Chandra’s heroism in a short, meaningful manner. I’ve just written a couple of scenes towards the end of Book III that shows more flashbacks and some of that horror for Chandra, Croft, Kaylin, and Shiv.

I appreciate your insight into Chandra. It weighs on her more, since she was injured, but she is trying to balance who she both was and is, and both find herself, while still fulfilling her responsibilties to her loved ones (she includes her crew in that group, if not the closest loved ones).

Thanks for the read and the comment!
