Comment on Flowers on the Wall

  1. Oh McCoy, dear glorious, cankerous, truth bombing McCoy! You are to be loved and cherished and celebrated for every ounce of the grumpiness but also for the bleeding heart of compassion that gruff exterior fails to cover. He didn't come all this way and scramble his atoms to not help Maya and he sure as hell didn't come all this way to not speak plainly to her. You have to just love that he kills it with the line about her great purpose. Maya has to be more than butt hurt about her treatment and how she is regulated to less than second class citizenship but McCoy points out trying to measure up to a bunch of fascist war criminals is not a loftier purpose.

I like the handling of McCoy here and how it plays into the character of Maya's story and consider it as making me intrigued to delve into her story.

    1. His unyielding compassion and unapologetic candor are exactly what Maya needs, and exactly why I love to write him so much.

There is no shortage of material if you want to read more with Maya. She was meant to be a side character in one story, but took over the whole story and now has several spin offs. Shes….complicated
