Comment on Where Nobody Knows Your Name

  1. Yep! A little change of venue in Boston, but had to, with Emma’s backstory and origin. I love giving little clues as to when something takes place, especially related to canon.

You might be right about Saavik and Rebecca. I love how you describe as ‘application more than theory.’ That is an excellent way of characterizing her. She isn’t a captain yet, but she learned to take the needs of those under her command, past and present, seriously. To her it is intuitive she would follow up with Emma after Mutara. It shows, to me, how she will grow in a different direction than Spock, but she will be comfortable in herself.

I loved writing the subtlety that she shows in guiding Emma. I knew she wouldn’t be preach or prescriptive, but would find her way to teaching Emma, while maintaining Emma’s dignity.

Steff has an excellent way of putting it. She has often commented and in conversation, talked about characters being there for each other.

Thank you so very much for this review. I really means a lot to me.
