It's definitely gotten jossed as stories go. LOL! I wrote this as a gift for a friend long ago, and I'm glad people still are enjoying it even today. Of course, in canon, Starfleet is basically the end-all-be-all, for lead characters especially. OMG, right? I have some opinions about that.
