I don't recall what Benton's deal is and I'm not certain you have published that part of the story yet. I recall wishing I had known about the "one captain" rule as one of the Beagle Task Force ships has a marine captain aboard (along with a major).

Nope! That information has yet to be revealed, hence the end of the chapter where both Leo and R'raia are just left with non-plussed expressions on their faces when Benten does it again on the bridge.
Never served a day in uniform. I just have a lot of naval manuals in my personal library, and have a lot of friends who're veterans. I generally let one of them read through to give me a thumbs-up or thumbs down on verisimilitude.
