   I read this fic awhile ago (probably pretty soon after you posted it here) but never commented so let me amend that real quick. I have no idea who Martok is -- I haven't watched DS9 that far -- but that didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying this fic. I don't feel like I missed anything due to my ignorance (though I doubtless did) and it's always very cool when that happens. It's especially cool when it happens in short fics! That's good, and perhaps more importantly for short fics, effective characterization! So extra kudos!!

   (I especially enjoyed the last line! A kind of bittersweet ending with a kind of closure on one relationship and yet the opening of another. Hopefully one less fraught by outside danger, LOL. Thanks for sharing!)
