Comment on Absent in the Spring

  1. I read this the night you posted it. Not my usual pairing, but I was struck by how glittering and brittle-edged you write Will here. And the reveal of the depths of his trauma. His nuance and teenage disaffection meeting that trauma and the ways it comes out. It strikes me as very realistic, the way he seems to be standing on a tightrope in several different ways. Well done!

    1. Thank you!! I’ve been trying to work my way into writing Riker/Picard for a year now and it’s been HARD. Picard is the difficult part; I think I need Patrick Stewart himself to read the dialogue before it will sound “right” to me 😆💀 but recently I decided to try some AUs to wrangle the pairing and that really helped.
