Such a powerful ending! I really, really enjoyed the snapshots of their meetings and the different places in their lives they are in every one. Like, they're not the same people that last time they meet as the first one, but they still like each other and still have that connection. Honestly, Janeway/Nerys is such a good pairing, I don't know why I haven't thought of that before!
And you wrote it really well. It had a nice flow and I really liked emotions in the fic. There was that undercurrent of regret (all those missed chances! *sniffs*) and that sense of a kind of quiet contentment when they finally take that step. And of course it's horrible they both lost so many years to uncertainty but *ah*, that letter! And of course Janeway read it! The emotions!! Janeway and Nerys have the capacity to be so good together, so thank you for opening my eyes to their majesty. Both strong characterizations with backgrounds that have altered who they are (the Janeway before and after Voyager's... ehm, voyage is not the same person, like for Nerys before and after DS9) and yet they're still like fundamentally good people who deserve each other and all good things. I'm rooting for their future!
