   "Next thing you’ll know we’ll be handing over starship commands to raw cadets!" - Do I detect a rebuke at J.J. Abrams and the makers of the new Delta Quad Trektoon?

   Definitely remembering this one now - but still not remembering how it all worked out. I have a hell of a memory for history and science, but none for plot lines of fiction, which allows me to enjoy the same movies several times in a row.

   Actually, I think this is one of the first Reykjavik stories I read. Nice creepy vibe.

   btw - I'd like to borrow Glal for a drinking contest - short story response to the current Trek BBS challenge. He would have to face Scotty, among other skilled lushes.

      Picked up on that little jab, did you? ;-) Yeah, the cadet promoted to captain was one of my major nits from the otherwise entertaining JJ-Trek alternate reality. I'm sure Glal would be up to the challenge.
