Summary
“What’s this?” Garak picks up the packet from the tray of equipment that Julian has offered him.
“It’s called a condom, 003,” Julian says, throwing heavy emphasis on both syllables.
Garak inspects it as though he’s never seen one. “Does it explode?”
Julian sighs. Garak is clearly enjoying himself. “If you over-fill it.” Behind him, someone chokes on a laugh. “Really, 003, if you don’t know how to use it, you should familiarize yourself. Wouldn’t want His Majesty’s most vital organ to come down with the clap.”
---
The James Bond AU where Julian is Q and Garak is 003. Garak decides that the best way to express his feelings to Julian is to...seduce a lot of people. On camera.

Summary
Garak watches Julian walk away, the movement of the muscles beneath that fragile skin, and tries to ignore the abominable sentiment coursing through him. Another irony of the curse, isn’t it—that sentiment should be the only way to break it.

Summary
“Empok Nor is controlled by some kind of—beast. It’s told Quark that it will provide the parts that we need, but in exchange, it requires a doctor.”
How naïve Julian had been. “I’d be happy to assist, sir.”
“No,” Sisko had said. “No, it doesn’t want a doctor’s visit. It wants a doctor.”

And so it comes to this: Trip Tucker, formerly of the SIS, formerly of Bell Aircraft, formerly of the United States Army Air Force, hunting through a junk shop the way he used to when he was a kid to find a half-busted typewriter so Garak can present it to Julius like a bouquet of roses.

Summary
He couldn’t say why, exactly, he wanders into the tailor’s shop one morning. He buys strictly off-the-rack and the only suit he’s ever had tailored was his wedding suit. Maybe it’s that as he walks past, he hears a radio playing the repetitive “beep…beep…beep” of Sputnik passing overhead. It’s not a particularly pleasant sound, in the abstract, but for some people—like him—it might as well be the comforting sound of a heartbeat.

Science-fiction writer Julius Eaton meets not-so-simple tailor Elim Garak in the midst of the Space Race.

Summary
“My dear—Doctor Bashir,” Garak begins. “I don’t wish to offend you, and I certainly never intended to mislead you.”
“Really.” Julian’s voice is tight now. “Really.”
“I have never—desired a more intimate relationship with you.”
“Five years of lunches and holosuite dates and book recommendations and that fitting today, when you had me undress so that you could put your hands all over me, and you never intended to mislead me.”

Summary
If there is one thing in the galaxy that could intrigue Garak, it is a Starfleet officer with a secret buried so deeply that it has to be hidden beneath a persona as over-the-top as that of Julian Bashir. And, from that day on, Garak devotes himself to discovering it.
Or at least, he means to. Somewhere along the way, during those lunches that are meant to seem like friendly trivialities to cover subtle investigation, Garak finds that he’s rather more interested in the content of what Julian says—the ridiculous opinions he professes about literature and music and art, the sudden gushing explanations of his latest research project and the progress he’s made, or can’t seem to make, the open declarations he makes about Federation politics—and rather less interested in discovering whatever that façade is for.
