The warmth of Chakotay's hand against her shoulder and the subtle glance they shared before entering the cargo bay were just enough to quell Kathryn's dread that some members of their merged crews had decided they were going to stay behind on the planet.
Facing the empty space she let out an involuntary sigh she hadn’t realised she’d been holding. Blinking away the threatening tears, all she could manage to utter was “they all stayed with us,” before stealing another glance at Chakotay who looked as relieved as she was before they left the room and returned to the bridge.
