“Jim!” Nyota grinned as she stepped into the room. “This is wonderful!”
“Indeed,” Spock added. “You have managed quite well at cultivating a romantic atmosphere.”
Jim grinned. It was his first time planning a date for the three of them, so he’d put a lot of care into his preparations. He’d set up a table with a white tablecloth and a couple of candles, upon which he’d set their food and a bottle of wine. He’d had to use the ship’s plates and cutlery, but it was decent enough for tonight. “Thanks,” he responded. “Now, let’s sit down and get tonight started.”
After they’d all sat down, Jim popped open the bottle of wine - a ‘53 Blanc that he’d gotten at their last stop at a starbase. Carefully, he poured the wine into each of their glasses, then raised his.
“To us.”
“To us.” The three of them clinked their glasses together and took a long drink from each of them. Then they began to chat in earnest.
