Maya rarely saw Saavik sleep. What little sleep her Vulcan partner needed she got after Maya was fast asleep, and she spent most of the night simply lying awake beside her bondmate. This night Maya was awoken by another uneasy dream–not a nightmare, but one that made her breath a sigh of relief upon waking.
She closed her eyes and snuggled up closer to her lover. Saavik was still fast asleep and snoring softly in a manner that sounded decidedly inhuman. As Maya tried to fall back asleep, she felt Saavik’s body softly vibrate. This wasn’t snoring. This was purring!
Maya grinned and bit her lip to keep from laughing. No one told her that Vulcan’s purred.
