Best Served Cold

Summary:

Maya tries to settle the score with her brother.

Notes:

CW: in reference to past SA

Takes place after "Katusha"

"Katka" is a familiar form of "Ekaterina," but like in a rough/super informal way

Work Text:

Arjun had lost interest in her. Maya still felt her rage, but for years her half- brother’s lust was directed toward others. Still, she never forgot what he did to her and never felt safe alone with him, certainly not here, walking the riverbank in the same location where only a year ago they fought bitterly. Her left arm was still numb and weak.

She kept her distance, following from a few meters behind until Arjun stopped, turned, and began to walk toward her. “It’s been a while.” There was forceful hunger in his voice. Maya knew what was on his mind and backed away with each step he took towards her. He had hurt her enough.

Her heart raced, and she felt a fire begin to burn inside her belly. “Stay away from me!” she shouted.

Arjun ignored her warning. “I think you’ve spent too much time with Katka. You never refused me before.” Another step closer. “No one refused me before she did.”

“Arjun, I swear…” Maya clenched her jaw, and her hands curled into tight fists.

The expression on Arjun’s face shifted to one of sick amusement. “And just what do you think you can do to stop me? Half-breed, half-crippled…”

Before Arjun could speak another insult, Maya acted quickly. She bend down to pick up one of the smooth river rocks with her non-dominant right hand and hurled it at her brother. The rock flew past his head, but the second one, a larger rock, landed to hit him square in the mouth. Arjun screamed in pain as he doubled over.

“Fucking cunt…” He spat out a mouthful of blood. Maya threw another rock, but this one missed too. “You’ve already broken my tooth!” As he spoke more blood flowed uncontrollably from his mouth.

“Then we’re even after you permenting wrecked my shoulder!” Maya shouted back. She bent over to pick up another rock but did not throw it.

Arjun tried to straighten himself out and took a few steps closer. “I could do so much worse.” Even though the blood, Maya could see which tooth she hit: just inside of his upper right canine tooth. There would be no hiding it.

“Don’t make too much of a scene.” As she spoke her gaze was fixed on his mouth, eager to see the broken gap in his teeth again even though she found the sight disgusting. “Not unless you want everyone to know that it was the half-breed cripple who wrecked your perfect smile.”
