If anything Aurelia was not sure If she could face the commander again. Her confession from a few days previous had her worried. So when Aurelia was sitting in ten forward that evening with her friend Lucian a Trill from engineering having a drink and the commander had asked her if she wanted to come by his quarters to watch a movie with him Aurelia’s cheeks turned a bright pink as she accepted.
Aurelia’s friend Lucian chuckled at Aurelia’s reaction once the commander had left which caused Aurelia to playfully hit him with her spoon before she left to freshen up.
That evening Aurelia was settled on the small couch with Riker after a stressful and busy day on the Enterprise; A film plays on the small screen, splattering the dimly lit quarters in ever changing shades of vibrant colors. The old period drama unfolding on screen had managed to keep Aurelia’s attention for a short amount of time, but it was evident especially to Aurelia the wariness of the day's chaotic event was slowly seeping into her bones.
Aurelia had been dealing with several diplomats throughout the course of the day, After all it was her job on the enterprise. Tonight was something she needed and she could tell that Will also needed it just by the way he was sitting on the couch.
Clearly. Riker’s mind is focused on the screen until he feels Aurelia shift slightly and she lies her head on his shoulder. Turning his gaze to Aurelia, he softly smiles and he sees her almost falling asleep.
“Sorry.” Aurelia offers as she sees him staring at her, she attempts to stifle her yawn as best as she could as she moves to get comfortable again so she could continue watching the film. Riker just shakes his head, dismissing his girlfriend's apology.
“Come on– Let’s get you to bed.” Will spoke and Aurelia couldn’t help but tease him.
“Oh? Are You coming too?” Aurelia teased, the playful energy hidden in her copper eyes and her smile still lingers on her face, Riker answers her question by smirking his usual charming smirk and he ends up giving Aurelia a kiss on the lips.
Will calls for the computer to have the film stop and the screen to power down before he stands up from the couch, he offers a hand to Aurelia who is still sitting down. Aurelia takes his hand and Riker pulls her to her feet, once up Aurelia begins to walk away, only for her to be halted with Riker’s hand on her own.
Aurelia doesn’t even have time to question Riker about what he was doing before he has an arm looped under Aurelia's knees and he has the young woman hoisted into his hold. In a sudden state of shock Aurelia lets out a scream.
“Will!” Aurelia shrieks out as the entirety of his quarters spun before she is up right in his arms again. She shakes her head from the dizziness that happened and she glares at him playfully.
“What, I thought you were tired Aurelia?” Aurelia didn’t have to be looking at him to tell that Riker was far too proud of himself for the little stunt he pulled. Unfortunately, Will was paying more attention to Aurelia than his surroundings,and sadly the end of the bed and a shoe caught Riker by surprise. Before either Aurelia and Riker could do anything Riker had tripped over the single shoe and sent the pair crashing onto the bed.
Aurelia let out a squeak of surprise as Riker landed on top of her slender frame…
Riker landed on top of Aurelia, the commander was quick to pull away from her. Ashen hair fell in front of Aurelia’s face as she lay on the bed. Riker’s brow creased with concern as he looked over her, but it takes all of a single second for that concern to dissolve.
Shock faded from Aurelia’s copper colored eyes and Aurelia was now laughing at the situation at hand.
She was laughing at him!
In playful retaliation and to hide his own embarrassment Will dove over Aurelia’s body once more; his hands sliding up her sides as he found the junction between Aurelia’s neck and shoulders. Aurelia couldn’t contain her laughter as Riker mouthed along the delicate skin of her neck, his beard tickling her skin as he went.
Aurelia found it really hard to breathe through her fit of laughter, Will’s assault on her skin was relentless. Her slender hands found his chest and she pushed him away. Once she pushed him away she sat up and moved the fallen curly lock of Ashen hair away from her face. Riker relents as soon as Aurelia pushed him away from her- again he was far too pleased with himself for what had occurred.
Copper colored eyes just softly stared at blue ones and Aurelia just curled up under the plush duvet on to the bed before she spoke.
“That is why I don’t let you carry me.” Aurelia spoke as she took off her shirt and she slid on a looser fitting T-Shirt and she unbraided her hair since it had already fallen out of its braid anyway. Loose curls now sat at her shoulder and she smiles softly at him
“That’s not fair. This was the first time I have ever dropped you and honestly this is the first time I have ever picked you up.” Riker Half heartedly attempted to defend himself as he got changed and settled into bed Next to Aurelia.
“It better be the last time Will.” Aurelia spoke and she climbed into bed next to Riker and she fell asleep, her small frame curled up against his. Will smiles softly and gives her a small kiss on her forehead and he curls himself around her small delicate frame.
This time he was going to protect her from the nightmares he knew she normally suffered with and he wants her to be safe.
