Chapter Text
Kathryn perches on the desk in her office. She always ignores the chair.
"It's late."
"It is."
"You're still working."
Sighing, Beverly sets the padd that's never finished. "There's a lot to do."
"Did you say: even when the work is unending, we have to let ourselves rest?
"Oh so you were listening."
"I always listen to you." Kathryn shrugs. "Don't always agree."
"I have to--"
"Rest."
"Make me."
They stare, something crackling between them.
"Wanna bet? I will."
Beverly stands between Kathryn's legs, daring her to start. "Are you trying to get me to bed?"
Their lips meet, exhausted.
