"I never liked these archaic Earth artifacts," Riker grumbled.
"Easy, Number One." Picard's hand grazed his hip, sending a line of fire up Riker's nerves. "Balance. Hands on the handlebars. Feet on the pedals."
He edged away, no longer supporting the bicycle, and Riker toppled over instantly.
"Damn," he said, kicking at the aluminum death contraption that had tangled with his legs. "And people enjoyed this?"
"Oh, yes. Particularly the children." Picard grabbed his hand and hauled him to his feet. His thumb rubbed a circle on Riker's palm before he pulled away. "Try again?"
Cheeks burning, Riker rasped, "Yes."
