What is considered a fandom and how should each be labeled?
- Star Trek: Show Name for official shows.
- SHORTCODE - Book name - Author name for official tie-in novels.
- Show Name for crossover fandoms.
- Fan-Created Fandom Name for fan-created universes/ships/series.
Non-standard Fandoms
Book series -- with multiple books by the same author or as part of a grouping, like Diane Duane's series -- are their own fandom. Individual books don't need to be addressed. As another non-standard fandom, TAS falls under TOS; there's no TAS fandom because it should be included under TOS.
Fan-Created Fandoms
An author/artist can get their own fandom after having ten stories set within that timeline/universe. With it includes canonization of their main casts, as well as an Ensemble - SHORTCODE tag to go with them. If they have ten stories that are not yet transferred here, that does still count.
